About us
Abugida Publishing LLC was established in 2025 in Virginia with a clear purpose: to serve Ethiopian children growing up outside of Ethiopia. We create and publish children’s books written in simple Amharic, featuring engaging illustrations that reflect Ethiopia’s rich history and culture. Our stories are thoughtfully designed to match the lifestyle and environment of children in the diaspora, helping them stay connected to their roots through language, culture, and storytelling.
Mission Statement
To produce a wide range of children’s books written in simple Amharic, enriched with illustrations that teach Ethiopian history and culture, and tailored to the daily lives of Ethiopian children living abroad—so they can learn their language, embrace their heritage, and build a strong cultural identity.

To nurture a generation of Ethiopian children in the diaspora who are proud of their identity, fluent in their mother tongue, and deeply connected to their cultural and historical roots—through books that reflect who they are and where they come from.
